5 Things I’ve learned from Smash Mouth

The other day I was driving back from the beach and I put this song on, and as I listened to the lyrics I remembered that a friend had once tried to tell me to listen to this song closely when I was feeling really down.

1. Well the years start coming and they don’t stop coming

No matter how you look at it, time is going to pass you by. What you do with it is up to you. You can sit around ond be miserable or you can live life to the fullest.

2. Didn’t make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb

There really is no sense in having everything you want if you don’t have any fun in the process of getting it, and once you have it. Life was meant to be fun.

3. You’ll never know if you don’t go
You’ll never shine if you don’t glow

This is one of my favorites. Fear of the unknown keeps us from taking so many chances in our lives, yet we truly will never know if we don’t just take the chance. Taking chances it what gives you a chance to shine.

4. Only shooting stars break the mold

Earlier I gave you three pieces of commonly given advice that suck. One of them was try to fit in. Shooting starts, which are one of the rarest most beautiful things in the universe are the ones that “break the mold.” Be a shooting start and break your own mold.

Welcome to a new a reality. Everyday we tell ourselves a story about our life. That story is your reality. What’s beautiful is that by simply changing the story you can change your reality. You really are a Rock Star and an All Star, so get the show on and get paid.
