Earlier this morning, I was remembering a conversation with an old friend about a very, unusually quiet morning in Berkeley, CA. She said “It’s weird…this is like a silence before the storm.” That got me to thinking about life and how even in life there always seems to be a silence before the storm when we are on the edge of massive success. James Arthur Ray described this in the secret, where he talked about results not coming for quite some time, and people get fed up with the law of attraction and start digging up the seeds.
I’ve realized the silence before the storm is a great thing. It is a time for introspection and a time to keep the focus of your thoughts on achieving your goal. I read somewhere (Brian Tracy, I think), that 80% of a goal is often accomplished in the last 20 percent of effort. However, most people just give up in the last 20%. So essentially, they give up when they are almost there.
So, how do we use the silence before the storm? Keep visualizing the end goal. If you are this far, then chances are the remaining 20% will just come to you through visualization since we know that like thoughts are attracted to each other. Use the silence before the storm to detach from the outcome. Attachment to the outcome gives off a vibration of doubt and will just extend the remaining 20%. Use the silence before the storm to decide on some new goals. If you’re already giving off this energy of accomplishment, then other goals are a perfect thing to incorporate because you’ll probably achieve them at a rapid rate. It’s called the silence before the STORM for a reason

so true.
definitely agree that it’s a good thing.
and an important moment. often people get spooked by the silence and they flinch and give up. kinda like what seth godin calls the dip but a peak
like the way you put the visualising the remaining 20% rather than being attached to it.
inspiring and reflective stuff
well done

I love how you’ve explained how we should use the silence before the storm. There is a way to be productive in every situation and you’ve done a great job of illustrating how we can benefit from that time. Thank you!
