The Power of Momentum

by srinirao on May 22, 2009

Have you ever noticed that sometimes in your life you are just on a roll? Everything seems to go according to plan, and you go around telling people  “When it rains it pours.” This could be in any area of your life, money, relationships, career success and more.  But, then shortly after something interesting happens. The roll that you are on comes to an end.  But what if you decided that your roll will never end. My friend who is a life coach is massively successful in almost every area of his life, and one of his affirmations is “My roll will never end.” It’s been 3 years and I’ve never witnessed somebody with so much success so consistently.

I realized that what he’s done is leveraged the power of momentum. Once he hit the roll, he decided that it was just the way his life was.  Let me share an example of momentum directly related to this blog. I started this blog at the end of April approximately. So it hasn’t even been one month. But, I have regular visitors, regulars who comment, and more and more people seem to just keep ending up at my blog.  This is because I have hit the phase called momentum. I write every single day for that very reason. Last night when I went to sleep I really wasn’t sure what I’d write about today, but then I realized, I’ve hit momentum, I can write about it.

Momentum is one of the greatest examples of the Law of Attraction at work. Powerful thoughts are followed by other powerful thoughts. Powerful actions are followed by other powerful actions. We see it in the world around us every day. The NBA playoff games are one of most timely examples I can think of. When  a basketball team goes on a run, have you noticed how difficult it becomes for the other team to slow them down? Those runs have made the difference between winning and losing in several games.

How do we stop momentum? We just stop doing what we’re doing. If I stopped writing for one week, I’m sure it would be much harder for me to get back to a daily habit, because I stopped the momentum. If for example you are having massive success in meeting new people, selling more products, or whatever it is, look for a pattern. Identify the process, and just replicate it. By weaving your ongoing success into your visualization practice you can accelerate momentum even more. To add to that you can incorporate the power of beliefs and really stretch what’s possible.

I think you are absolutely correct on momentum. It’s true that once the ball stops, it’s harder to get it rolling again.

momentum is super power.

i think it’s a mindset more than anything. deciding that there’s nothing that will throw you off.

it’s benefits are exponential in my experience. specially in things like business and studies since you get into a mindset that builds and expands.

So interesting! I love the affirmation “my roll will never end” because I do think attitude is so important. If you don’t think your good luck will end, it’s more likely to stick around. Think positively!
