Replace Naps with Paralaminal Sessions

This is a concept that I’ve experimented with over the last few weeks so I thought I’d write about it. I had read some reviews of paraliminal sessions on the Positivity Blog, so I thought I would dig deeper into the whole concept. I had some paraliminals on my computer already, so I started with those. Then coincidentally, the next day Steve Pavalina posted a free Peak Performance Paraliminal Download. If you haven’t got it yet, do yourself a favor and get it right away. After I got it, I decided that any time I felt that need for the afternoon nap, I would put on my headphones and just listen to the peak performance paraliminal. The results I’ve seen so far have been amazing. I decided to use it in three different areas of my life:

1. Surfing: As a beginning surfer, surfing can be challenging, frustrating, and sometimes even downright painful. But, I’ve persisted through 6 months and now it’s started to not only become fun, but very addictive because of the positive mental state it puts you in. Last Tuesday before I went out, I decided to listen to the peak performance download, and use it for surfing. The result was stellar. I had never consistently caught so many waves before and I had the best day of surfing since I started. Now, I’ve made listening to the peak performance download a part of my surfing routine.

2. Social Life/Networking Events: This is an interesting one. You might wonder what peak performance means in this context. I think that’s really dependent on you. For me that means talking to everybody and anybody without any fear.  What I found when I used the peak performance download in a social setting was that I felt comfortable talking to everybody. People constantly complimented me on my energy, which was an awesome feeling.

3. Job Interviews: I had two job interviews this week and used the peak performance paraliminal before each one. The results again, were spectacular. The first interview went beautifully and I hit it off with the hiring manager. The second one was short and to the point, but I still got invited back for a second round and the recruiter said the hiring manager liked me.

So, these are just  a few areas in my life where I’ve used paraliminals. As far as replacing naps, I think you’ll find that when you finish a paraliminal session, you feel completely refreshed and you’ve only used about 20 minutes as opposed to an hour  or two that you would use in a nap.

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. I’m so glad that you mentioned paralaminal here. I have already downloaded Steve Pavlina’s recommendation but do not have the time to get round to it yet. Thanks for the reminder!

Definitely a good practice.

I’ve been using paraliminals for a while, and one of the first problems I ran into was figuring out where to find the time for them. There were so many sessions I wanted to try applying to various goals that it was hard to know where to start.

So just started doing one after lunches. Just like a short nap/refresh, but with a purpose. I still follow this practice at least two or three days a week (not everyday, because, sometimes, rest is purpose enough).

It’s really fantastic when you can plug something into your life that makes you feel better consistently and adds energy to your dreams. Even better when it doesn’t require a lot of time or effort to make it a habit.
