One Belief: THERE ARE NO LIMITS. First and foremost I want to say this. All of the limitations in our lives are self imposed and we can overcome them. The one belief that will enable to go beyond any limits is the belief that there are no limits. I want to share a quote from a the movie The School of Life (coincidentally the inspiration for my blog’s name).
“The evil empire is a belief. It’s believing that we have limitations. You don’t. Whether you realize it or not, every single one of you is perfect.”
-Ryan Reynolds, The School of Life
Curiosity/Imagination: People without limits live in a continual state of curiosity. Curiosity is what causes us to learn and people without limits never stop learning. Remember when we were kids how fascinating the world around us was. We always wanted to know more. When we asked why we got the answer “because.” If we asked why more than a few times, there would be consequences. But that very thing we were told to stop doing was the very display of one of our limitless qualities. As children we could imagine the craziest things. I probably went through a good few years when I thought that someday I would somehow magically have the powers of Superman and be able to fly. The key is to have an imagination so powerful that we can envision an entire world which has no basis in reality. We have truly understand the limitless power of imagination.
Patience: It’s important to have patience and faith for your moment in the sun. I’m not the most patient person in the world. At least I wasn’t until this last year. If my time in the ocean has taught me anything is that there is a natural schedule to everything and anything. By going apeshi$# I’m not going to make waves come any sooner. If anything I’ll just have gotten myself into a frenzy for nothing. People without limits believe so strongly that they will accomplish their goals that there’s no need to be impatient. Focus on today and realize that worrying is a waste of time and energy.
Presence: I know you probably are starting to feel like I’ve talked about this so much over the last few weeks and I do it partially as a reminder for myself. But, I’m convinced that this above all things will enable us to unleash everything we have inside of us. I think it’s the key to peak performance in everything we do: jobs, sports, careers, relationships, etc. It’s only in the now that you can truly be at the top of your game.
Independent of Good Opinions: Trying to please everybody is going to be a guaranteed waste of time. It’s simply not possible to please everybody, so it’s important to blaze your own trail. Overcoming the fear of who you are and finding your most magnetic qualities lies largely in being independent of the good opinion of others.
Strong Reality: People with no limits have such a strong reality that they are not affected by what goes on outside of them. Everything that happens in our life is about how we chose to respond to it. People with no limits have conditioned their responses to be whatever they want them to be. There could be an entire post about having a strong reality (and I’m working on it).
Positive Expectation: Positive expectation is a hard thing for people to get a grasp on. After all , how often are we told throughout our childhood not to get our hopes up so that way we won’t get disappointed. Inspiring stuff huh? As I get older, I’m beginning to realize that if we start to see everything working out, it eventually will. Sure, there are ups and downs. It’s a part of life. On the edge of facing your biggest fears, just ask yourself “what’s the best that could happen”
The ideas in this post were inspired by two books by Wayne Dyer: How to be a No Limit Person and You’ll See it When You Believe It.

Wait, are you telling me that I'm NOT going to have the powers of Superman one day??
I think patience is one of the most important qualities a person can have, and especially in this day and age where people want everything to happen fast. This is really evident in blogging specifically where people expect their blogs to blow up in a few months and then they end up burning out due to impatience.
