Mad Libs of Wisdom from the Skool of Life

As a kid I always loved Mad Libs. So I decided to do something for you guys that I thought you might find amusing. I decided to see if I could make a post that linked all of my posts together in a letter (aka mad libz of Wisdom from the Skool of Life). I hope you enjoy it.

First I want you to know that you possess a truly limitless power of imagination. It’s really your most amazing gift.  It’s easy to go through life and ask yourself the question “what’s the worst that could happen”, but I prefer asking myself “what’s the best that could happen?” Just know that there is a tremendous power in momentum so keep pushing because eventually you will hit that momentum no matter what your pursuit in life. The rules of childhood no longer apply because they are all nonsense designed to hold you back, so I encourage you to adopt my 6 simple rules for adult life. While you are at it embrace your imperfections and don’t fall victim to the peak performance gap. The simple act of being a friend will take you further in life than you can possibly imagine. You might make some enemies along this journey, but I encourage you to see the gift in everyone. Don’t question where everything thing you want is at, and stop digging up the seeds you plant.

Making a choice between passion and practicality is something that you will be faced with many times in my life. Every time I’ve chosen practical it’s made me miserable. Every time I chose passionate it made me elated.  Be careful not to let the dark side of imagination get the best of you. I promise you that you will always feel like you are on your way to accomplishing your goals if you make a point to make note of the evidence. Try not to fall victim to the comparative and competitive disadvantage even though we live in a world full of ranking systems that that really only have the meaning you’ve given them.

One of the most useful things I can teach you is how to get free drinks and get treated like a vip everywhere you go. That skill will open more doors literally and figuratively than you can possibly imagine. Our reactions to events can have a major impact on our destiny. Be cautious of the impact of authority on your empowering and limiting beliefs.  Sometimes in life, sports, or anything else it only takes one small adjustment to make a big difference. Many choices  you make will have an impact on your life, but here are 4 choices that will have dramatic impact on the quality of your life.  When things get tough, you feel down, and feel like giving up just remember the power of your SMILE.

Personal Development and Achievement are largely a matter of commitment and consistency. After all, How often do you decide not to brush your teeth? No matter how difficult life gets, I think it’s always important that you find an outlet.  When all else fails, find a way to laugh until you cry. It feels really good.  Always operate from a learning perspective. You don’t know everything and you never will. That’s why life is so interesting. As you go through life I encourage you to create your own definitions for failure and success. It’s amazing what that will do for you.  Worrying is a complete waste of time and energy, so take it off your list of things to do.  It’s inevitable that you are going to make mistakes in life and often get pounded. Shake the wipeouts, learn from them and move on.

As far as I’m concerned, the recession might be the best damn thing that ever happened to you. Even with IBS, ADHD, and uphill career battles, I’m convinced that I’m going to be a massive success in life. You should adopt the same belief.  Figure out your greatest strength and ride the wave in the direction it’s taking you. Take my 20 life lessons from 20’s and don’t make the same mistakes. I will leave you with one final thought. There is a side of success you don’t see. Just remember that you will get there. Where you are coming from is not nearly as important as where you are going.  Good Luck on your journey through the Skool of Life.

I bet you have put a lot of energy to make this comprehensive composition. But you know what? I want to do the same. :-)

Armen,

Its funny because a few weeks back somebody criticized me for my straying to far from personal development. I think that as a blogger finds his/her voice it starts to come together in a fairly coherent manner. But I definitely think this is much easier than if my content had been all over the place.

Hi Srinivas.

Some people may see this and think it is simple. I know it takes some effort to connect past posts together in a coherent way like this.

One cool thing about this is that it shows that your messages have common themes. Someone who was writing disconnected posts would not be able to do this as well, because the paragraphs would come out awkward.

Miche,

Thanks for stopping by. I really had fun writing this post. I came up with the idea for it a while back and then I went through my old posts and strung them together just to see if I could create a speech of some sort from it. I really didn't think about it from an SEO perspective.

Hi Srinivas, wow, this was awesome! I absolutely loved MadLibs, too, growing up. This post contains so many pearls of wisdom even without all the links, but what a treasure trove it's become! I really enjoyed it and now am off to click around! Thanks so much!

Cheers,
Miche :)

@Gordie: It's funny.I never even contemplated the SEO benefits of writing such a post. It was mainly to write some sort of motivational speech. But I guess what you mentioned is a nice fringe benefit.

@Henri: I think that was really what I was going for with this post. I wanted to introduce readers to more of my content and get some more stickiness.

That's a lot of links there dude and a great way to introduce new readers (such as myself) to your posts. I never thought about the fact that stressed is desserts backwards, so that was mindblowing and worth the read alone!

All I can say is awesome SEO! :)
