“stoked” – adjective – to be “stoked” is to be completely and intensely enthusiastic, exhilarated, or excited about something. those who are stoked all of the time know this; being stoked is the epitome of all being. when one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.

-Urbandictionary.com

I’ve heard this word so many times over the years, and I never quite understood what it really meant. It really is a terminology that is part of the surfing subculture, yet if we look at the meaning above it becomes obvious how you can use this in the area of personal development. Whether you realize it or not, you have been stoked at some point in your life.  Once you have experienced being stoked, there’s no turning back. It’s the most addictive feeling in the world.  If you can can continually remember how to isolate your success mechanisms, you will experienced being stoked on a regular basis. Let’s take a look at the components of being stoked in further detail.

To Be Completely and intensely, enthusiastic, or exhilarated or excited about something

This really is nothing more than a peak state of mind that allows you achieve maximum results in your life. But, how do you create it? Yesterday I mentioned that you can use morning power music to create an intense, excited state of mind. Sometimes all you have to do is find the music, close your eyes, and picture the best parts of your life, and you will find yourself feeling stoked.  Music is just one of the ways which you can achieve the feeling of being stoked. Do you have a habit or ritual that can send you into a peak performance state of mind? Find out what it is, and you’ll be able to feel stoked on a regular basis.

Being stoked is the epitome of all being. When one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.

While there is without a doubt a limitless power of imagination, you can only truly tap its potential if you can learn to be stoked. In addition to the 7 Life Lessons from the Skool of Surf that I’ve learned, I’ve realized that every day that you go out and surf you overcome even bigger challenges, and you make and more distinctions about how one small adjustment can make a huge difference. Life is pretty much the same way. As I’ve started to isolate my success mechanisms, I’ve started to find myself in able to push the limits of what I’m capable of. Actually, there are no limits. We’ve just been taught by our education, society, the media and all the other programs in the matrix that there are.  Do yourself a favor: learn to be stoked.

To tell you the truth it’s not easy to be stoked in these depressing times. However, I’m glad that there are people like you who champions the positive side of life.

Keep sharing your light dude. :-)
