You divide it as conscious/subconscious, others may say right brain/left brain, and still others may say awareness/mind. The thinking mind is not creative. It can only label, symbolize and conceptualize. Creativity and intelligence (not intellect) come from awareness, not the thinking mind. It's a powerful transforming insight, but it can take some time and effort to develop trust in awareness and let go of beliefs and ideas. You’re absolutely right, the conscious mind does not create.
