Sometimes, life sucks. Not everything is going to go as planned and a lot of times you will have to modify your approach to get what you want out of life. Despite the falls we take sometimes in life, being “skooled” is probably the best thing to happen to you and I.
As a high school freshman, I played freshman basketball. But, when my sophomore year rolled around, I was asked to play on the varsity squad. I was puny, but talented. That year, I learned a lot. I learned I wasn’t the best at basketball as my ego had thought and I was beaten on a game to game basis. Needless to say, I was “skooled”.
Following that year, I worked my tail off on the practice court and in the gym. I put on some muscle and was able to go above and beyond expectations my junior year. It all came from being “skooled” which made me a better person in the long run.
The great thing about being “skooled” is that is brings about a reality to each and every person. Ego’s are put in check and equality becomes reality again. As much as it sounds ridiculous, I enjoy being “skooled”. In the long run, it makes me a better, more developed person. I think that attitude should be taken as all. In the end, there isn’t a person that is better than the next, rather individuals sporting different characteristics that make up who we are. If everyone had the same characteristics and no one was “skooled”, we would be a very boring and undevelopedrace.
Being “skooled” should be something we all understand and accept. There is always someone better than us, but the harder we work, the closer we get to perfection. We must also understand that perfection is unattainable, but we should never give up on the rewarding journey to try and achieve perfection.
