Have you ever received the advice “When life gives you lemons, make Lemonade” and felt like beating the crap out the person who gave you that advice?  You might have also thought that it was completely cliched advice. In both cases, you’d be pretty dead on about how you feel. Bobby Mcferrin said it best when he said “In every life you have some trouble, but when you worry you make it double.” So, how do you keep yourself from worrying about cheating lovers, relationships that ended, job searches, and the problems of life? It’s simple, find an outlet.

What is an Outlet?

An outlet can be anything that gives you a chance to unplug from your problems and life in the matrix and plug into something, anything that fully occupies your mind in place of worry.   It is finding that one thing that can completely make you forget about everything else in your life. It is the one thing that makes you fully present and brings you into the moment. It is through an outlet you just might find something you are really passionate about or find something that completely changes your life.

Different Types of Outlets An outlet can come in numerous forms and I’ve shared just a few below:

Sports: For me realizing Why Surfing makes the world a better place and the 7 life lessons I’ve learned from the Skool of Surf made me realize that surfing is my outlet during what has been a tough time in my life. It also probably will be for the rest of my life. Any sport can serve as an outlet.

Music: The other day I was watching the movie about Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five and I realized that music can be an outlet for many people. Playing a musical instrument is a fantastic outlet because the sound of music is one of the greatest pleasures available to the one of our 5 senses we call hearing.

Writing: Writing tends to be an outlet for many people. Perhaps it’s an outlet because it’s a chance unload the f#$#n weight of the world off your shoulders on to a computer screen or piece of paper. Either way it gives you a chance to clear the mind. So it tends to be a good outlet.

Art: I honestly can barely draw stick figures and therefore I admire anybody who can draw or paint. Art always seems to be an expression of what somebody is feeling or thinking, and probably can consume you for hours.

By finding an outlet you can deliberately move your thought process away from worry and by focusing on your outlet, you’ll notice your entire thought process starts to become a much more positive one.

Different outlets of focus can shift your mind from negative to positive. Since an human begin can only hold 1 thought at time, you can substitute 1 for another.
If you feel anxiety, worry or confusion, switch that thought into happiness, bliss and successful thought. You are what you think, so switching your mind from negative to positive is the way to go. here a 1 tip for thought focus

1. Gratitude
Most people tend to think in terms of scarcity, lack and the unwanted. Once you being to appreciate things you have in your existence already , you begin to shift you mind into the positive. Appreciation for what you already have is a powerful way to aquire more and feel better.

Great post! :) I think it’s so important to figure out what your outlet is. Writing is definitely mine! :)

Being active at sport I think is the best outlet one can have. It occupies our mind as well as our body. However, it’s still temporary; it will not make your misery go away.

One must face whatever it is that stir ones mind in order to overcome it. :-)
