I’ve been reading Glen Allsopp’s main blog PluginID for about 3 months now, and it’s clear that knows what he’s doing. Given my current situation, out of grad school, and looking for a job, I figured there’s no better time to be entrepreneurial and the ideas in Cloud Living are geared towards exactly that. In The first part of the book Glen gives you an idea of what Cloud Living is and what some of the benefits are:
-
Unlimited income potential
-
Share Your Value
-
Set your own tasks
-
Work your own hours
-
Nobody to Answer to
He goes into each of these in greater detail through the first portion of the book. In the next portion of the book he goes into two potential mediums in which you can make money:
-
Blogs
-
Mini-sites (affiliates)
After highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each he goes into each idea in greater detail. In my opinion the portion on affiliate sites is really what makes this a worthwhile purchase. Glen goes over how to chose profitable affiliate products in great detail. The portion on blogs goes into extensive detail about how to setup a blog with all the right plug ins, how to install Wordpress, and more.
Could you get this information for free? Yes, you could. It would take you a good amount of time to gather all of it, and some of it is even already available on Glen’s blog. What’s he’s done is taken much of his content and beefed it up with videos to support, and somewhat of an outline for a plan to get you going on Cloud Living. Overall I can say, you wouldn’t be disappointed by this book, and I’ll report back my results from putting all these ideas to use on my entry into cloud living.
